EDITORIAL "THE SPIRIT WORLD A '

The first editorial in Argentina appeared in 1949 when Dr. Jan Dacfik created MLADOSTI. Under his management it were published 6 books.
In 1950 Rev. Ján Lach (USA) founded the second editorial well know as SLOBODNA SLOVENSKA KULTURA. This editorial was handled by Prof. Stanislav Meciar (ARGENTINA) Some of the books that were edited: Biela Kniha (by Dr. Durcansky, 1954), Msgr. Milos Mlynarovic (by Jan E. Bor, 1957), etc.

The three Edition that appeared in 1963 was DUCH A SVET. In this Editorial the founders Dr. Ernest Zatko-Bor from Argentine and Dr. Ignac Zelenka (Vesnin - 1913-1983, Director of the Vatican’s Library) from Italy worked as an effort to preserve the Slovak’s memory and culture and it served to approach the view & creativity of Dr. Zelenka -in poetry- and studies & biographies of Dr. Zatko.

It were published 40 books.

WHO WAS JAN E. BOR?


JÁN E. BOR is the well know pseudonym of Dr. Ernest Zatko.

He was born in the village Zabokreky, Slovakia. He completed his high school in Nitra and continued studying in Bratislava getting the Ph. Dr. of Roman Linguistics.
He edited eleven books in his hometown meanwhile he was journalist and critic of the newspapers: ELANE, PERO, POSTUPE, KULTURE, etc. Behind the advancement of the Red Army, Dr. Zatko-Bor had to let his homeland.

After staying a certain time in Austria, he went to Baviera and finally arrived to Italy. In this nation he stayed 3 years that served him to extend his knowledge and means the most creative stage of his literature’s studies because he interviewed eminent personalities: Giovanni Papini, L. Lisi, I. Giordani, J. Dominico, La Pira, Salvaneschi. Some historians such as: Monsgr. Riciotti, De Sanctis, Fortini, Trompeo, Salvini. Painters and sculptors: Carlo Bo, Casnati, Hutton, Exuper. He also interviewed philosophers as Manacorda and father Gemelli as well as father Lombardi, father Pio of Petralcina, Cardinal de la Costa, Emilio Zolli, etc. All those interviews were published in articles in Argentina.

He emigrated to Argentina and began after the 50’ to collaborate in Buenos Aires with most remarkable magazine like: LA VOZ FRANCISCANA, HISTONIUM, DINAMICA SOCIAL, etc. Also he was an active philosopher, writer and member of Slovak Association established in Bs. As.
Jointly Dr. Ignac Zelenka (Director of the Apostolic Library in the Vatican City) from Italy he had established the Editorial “DUCH A SVET”.

Ján E. Bor was the redactor & promoter of Slovak’s culture: Written more than 30 books with a serial of biographies about outstanding Slovaks living around the world: Msgr. Ján Rekem (USA), Msgr. Joseph cap (CANADA), Imrich Stolarik (CANADA), Koloman K. Geraldine (ARGENTINA), etc, and about the innovative poetry of Dr. Zelenka-Vesnina (ITALY).

Behind this literary's work, he also was a Columnist of Slovak's newspapers: Society, Kanadský SLOVAK, JUHOAMERICKY SLOVAK, HLAZY Z RIMA, salt, SLOVAK V AMERICA, KRAJANSKY GREETINGS, etc as well as he had participated with articles in all Slovak's Calendars Argentineans and Slovak's newspapers.

He married with a girl of Slovak's background-Prof. María I. Gajdos - and he became father of two sons (John and Paul), one daughter (Veronica) and grandfather of two grandsons (Thomas and Nicolas) and three granddaughters (Pilar, Belen and Shophia).

He died in Capital Federal, Argentina.

From 1987 to 2001 Prof. Dr. Ernest Zatko- Ján E. Bor received:

In 1987 the recognition “Dr. TISO” from the Slovak community living in Canada for his work as Slovak writer of the past and present of Slovak history and culture.

In 1996 a post-mortem medal from the Library of the University of Bratislava, Slovakia –Europe– by the Slovak’s Cultural Commission handled by Dr. J. Rydlo (University "Kniznica Bratislava") and Dr. M. Skotka (Narodné Literárne Centrum Bratislava).

In the Seminarium of Ziline-Slovakia -celebrated on April 2000- a post-mortem recognition "Dr. Joseph Tiso” and diplome for his works as Slovak, philosopher, critic, translator and editor by Rudolf Mirjanský (Správca rodného domu Dr. J. Tiso), PhDr. Peter Maruniak (Department of History slovneského exile), Ing. Miroslav Adamek (Head of City Office in Žilina).


In 2001, his biography was published in the Slovak's dictionary "Dictionary of Slovak spisovatel'ov 20s Century" edited by "National Library" on pag. 524 written by Mgr. And Dr. Peter Cabadaj. Augustine Mat'ovcik.

Koloman K. Geraldine-POET AND HIS WORLD-

In the first part of the book Bor vykresl'uje Koloman Geraldiniho fate of his childhood in his native Terchovej, through years of study in Nitra, Bratislava and L'ubl'ani (Slovenia), then its activities in the Slovak Matica, odchodod to emigrate in the year 1945, years of uncertainty in Bavaria and Italy and finally travel to Argentina, which became his second home and where he spent the past 40 years of his life.

Fugovi book is divided into two parts: I. Picture of the life and work of Mons. Francis Fugovi. II. Tapes of historical Slovak Republic (Slovakia on Matrix, etc).
Msgr. Frank J. Fuga was born on 9 June 1923 in the wine, the District. Michigan. High school ended the year 1944 in Michalovce. He was in the seminary r. 1944-45 in Bratislava. Year 1945 in sept. began in Kosice seminar but early oct. 1945 was designated for study (philosophical and theological) in Rome, where Cardinal Tragilo ordained him a priest 4th 1950. Theological study ended at Lateran University in Rome, Jun 1952nd In October 1953 the Congregation poziadl l change ceremony in Rome, where with the help of OM Lacko, taught the Byzantine rite. Already in March 1954 he was in Toronto, Canada and 25 April 1954 was in Hamilton as a spiritual parish. Received the title of Monsignor 23rd Nov. 1973rd On 19 Nov. 1974 was appointed dean of Slovak Greek Catholic parish in Canada. Title Mithredath-archpriest-14. Sept. 1975th Title: General vetch in today's diocese, 24 March 1981.
Msgr. was a good organizer, pioneer, editor and journalist, vydavatel'a Slovakia (Slovak Matica Abroad) and the Slovaks friendly literature.
Msgr. Fuga died 9th November 1987 in Hamilton, Canada.
